Reading scales
Built for a nurture group. Straight scales, a measuring jug and round dials: count the spaces between two numbers (not the marks), find what each small mark is worth, then read the pointer. Scales in 2s, 5s, 10s and 100s, then a pointer halfway between two marks.
A free key stage 3 and GCSE support geometry and measures lesson on reading scales, spec code N13. It has a lesson deck to teach from with a visualiser, a worksheet with answers and an exit ticket.
