Angles as turns
Built for a nurture group. An arm turns about a point: quarter, half, three quarter and full turns, clockwise and anticlockwise, on a dial marked North, East, South and West. Then each turn is compared with a corner of folded paper and named acute, right angle, obtuse or reflex. No protractor.
A free key stage 3 and GCSE support geometry and measures lesson on angles as turns, spec code G3. It has a lesson deck to teach from with a visualiser, a worksheet with answers and an exit ticket.
